    Privacy Notice

    Who This Applies To

    This privacy notice applies to the Max Climbing Coaching website and training application. Both are exclusively for clients of Max Climbing Coaching. If you are not a current client, you do not have access to the training app and this notice does not apply to you.

    What Data We Collect

    When you use the training app, we collect:

    • Basic profile information (name, profile picture)
    • Training logs and session data you record
    • Progress on assigned training plans
    • Messages exchanged within the platform
    • Account information (email address)

    Profile Picture Uploads

    You can upload a profile picture through the training app. On mobile devices, we request permission to access your photo library solely to allow you to select an image. We do not access, read, or store any photos other than the one you explicitly choose to upload.

    Your profile picture is stored in a private Google Cloud Storage bucket. It is not publicly accessible and can only be retrieved by authenticated users with permission to view your profile (you and your coach).

    We do not request access to, track, or store any health-related data from iOS (such as Apple Health or HealthKit data).

    How We Use Your Data

    Your data is used solely to deliver and improve your coaching experience — tracking progress, providing feedback, and communicating with you through the platform.

    Website Analytics

    This website uses Plausible Analytics for privacy-friendly website analytics. Plausible is designed to be compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and PECR without the need for cookie consent banners — it sets no cookies and does not track you across websites.

    Analytics are processed server-side. Your IP address is used to derive a daily-rotating anonymous identifier for counting unique visitors, and to determine approximate location (country, region, city) for the location report. The raw IP address is never stored.

    The data Plausible collects is limited to: page URL, referrer, browser, operating system, device type, and approximate location. No personal data or cross-site identifiers are collected or stored.

    Data Sharing

    We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Your training data, personal information, and usage patterns remain strictly confidential and are never shared with external companies or advertisers.

    The only third-party services we use are:

    • Plausible Analytics — for privacy-friendly website analytics (no cookies, no personal data stored)
    • SendGrid — for transactional emails (password resets, notifications)
    • Google Cloud — for secure data storage and hosting

    These services only receive the minimum data necessary to perform their functions and are bound by their own privacy policies.

    Coach Access

    As your coach, Max will have access to the following information to provide effective coaching:

    • Your training logs
    • Your progress on assigned training plans
    • Your basic profile information (name, profile picture)
    • Messages exchanged within the platform

    This access is limited to what is necessary to coach you effectively and is never used for any other purpose.

    Your Rights

    You have the right to:

    • Access — request a copy of your personal data
    • Correct — update or correct inaccurate information
    • Delete — request deletion of your account and associated data
    • Export — download your training data
    • Withdraw Consent — end your coaching relationship at any time

    Requesting Data Deletion

    You can request that your personal data and account be permanently deleted at any time. To do so, send a message through the contact form with a short note requesting deletion of your data.

    Your data will be deleted within 7 days of receiving your request, and you will be notified by email once the deletion is complete.

    Changes to This Notice

    If we make material changes to this privacy notice, we will notify you via the platform or by email. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated notice.
