I’ve been dreaming about making a career switch for a while, and I’m thrilled to finally take the leap! I’m now offering coaching plans, as well as one-off technique and strength sessions—both online and in the area of Copenhagen. My goal is to help climbers achieve their full potential, whether through physical training, refining technique, or building mental strength.
My coaching philosophy
A flexible approach
I believe that training has to be adapted on a day to day basis. On a weekly and daily basis, our bodies tell us whether we can
- Follow the intended program, intensities and volume;
- We have to alter the program;
- We take some more rest to let the body adapt;
It is therefore key to take a flexible approach when it comes to following a training plan and schedule. Therefore, in all my coaching packages, I offer the possibility to have daily communication with me that will allow you to raise any questions when following a training plan.
Building a foundation
For longevity in the sport, and being able to enjoy it to its fullest, I believe that we should spend a lot of time building the foundation. I believe a foundation consists of gaining a lot of mileage in different terrains, building up good and efficient technique and knowledge of movement, and spending time conditioning and strengthening our bodies. When you follow a coaching plan with me, I will always try to balance short term goals with a long term focus. We will look at your history of building capacity, movement patterns, technique and your basic strength.
A holistic approach
As a coach, I want to take a holistic approach both in climbing as in the "broader you". When it comes to climbing, we can enjoy climbing to its fullest when there is a good balance between movement, strength, technique, fear management and mental focus. In coaching with me, we will look at the full spectrum to allow you unlock new levels in climbing.
And when it comes the "broader you", I believe that for enjoying sports, exercise and climbing, we should take also take a holistic approach. We can enjoy climbing, training and progressing only when we feel energised and present. Therefore during my coaching I will consider all other factors that could influence your climbing and training performance, and adapt the plan accordingly.
Separation of performance and training
I believe that performance mode and training mode should be separated from each other. I've seen many climbers (including myself) who, in their desire to perform, follow sessions that lead to burning out the body and make progression hard to achieve. In my coaching, we will aim for periods of training and periods of performance, and I will help you in both periods. For a training phase, that means we will help you find the right intensity, volume and frequency of training protocols and balancing that with climbing and technique improvements. And for performance that means understanding what your goals are and diving down into the specifics of reaching optimal performance.
